About Greg Boutin
GrowthRoute's founder
Call me a business geek. My passion is to improve how growth companies are built and new products are launched.
Over the past 15 years, I have had the chance to do both, as a product manager, a product marketer, a fundraiser, and a co-founder for startups. I have worked for many innovative organizations, both old and young, with brands both established and in the making. Currently and for the past five years, I have been deeply involved with
tech startups.
Other experience includes being a marketer at the Idealab incubator in Pasadena, California, and a consultant for the leading strategy firm BCG in Toronto, Canada. My early roles also span product management, sales, and product marketing with names such as Nestle and France Telecom.
Builder of tech startups
My experience is in both the web and cleantech spaces. To customize this bio with relevant web experience, click here. To learn about my cleantech experience, click here.
Educational and cultural background
In terms of formal education, I completed my MBA at the Stanford Graduate School of Business, as a Fulbright scholar. From my earlier years in Europe, I received a BSc. degree in management from the leading French business school EDHEC in Lille, along with a certificate in marketing from the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, Scotland.
People often ask about my cultural background too: born in Paris and raised in the French riviera (actually a technology hotbed in France), I left in 1995 and have since lived and worked in the UK, the Philippines, Pakistan, California, and Canada. I emigrated to North America in 2002 and became a Canadian citizen. Currently, I reside in Toronto with my wife and daughter.
